Problem-based learning at Aalborg University

Problem-based learning is at the very heart of the teaching and learning practices of Aalborg University. Since the university was founded in 1974, problem-based learning has served as the core pedagogical model applied across all AAU degree programmes. The principles of problem-oriented, project-based group work continue to shape the educational experience at AAU today.

IAS PBL – A Cross-Disciplinary Hub for PBL Research and Practice

Building on this strong foundation, the Institute for Advanced Study in Problem-Based Learning (IAS PBL) brings together researchers and practitioners from across Aalborg University who are engaged in developing and applying PBL. IAS PBL serves as a central platform for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovation in PBL across disciplines and contexts.

Here, you can explore the latest research, discover current projects, and gain insights into how PBL is evolving within and beyond AAU.
