Workshop for Visitors

IAS PBL invites educators and researchers from all over the world to participate in a workshop on the shared PBL principles and the unique Aalborg problem- and project-based models

Each year, IAS PBL invites educators and researchers from around the world to join our Visitors' Workshop – a two-day event dedicated to exploring the unique problem-based and project-based learning models practiced at Aalborg University.

Rooted in AAU’s long-standing tradition of PBL since 1974, the workshop offers participants a deep dive into both the shared pedagogical principles and the distinct educational practices across faculties. Through presentations, department visits, and interactive sessions, participants gain insight into how PBL is implemented and adapted in various disciplines – from engineering and health to social sciences and humanities.

What to Expect

  • Engage with AAU researchers, educators, and students
  • Visit departments aligned with your academic interests
  • Learn about curriculum design, student preparation, and assessment in PBL
  • Reflect on how AAU’s models can inspire change in your own context
  • The workshop is led by an interdisciplinary team from IAS PBL, including experts from UCPBL, Share-PBL, HEALTH-PBL, and KILD.

📍 Location: AAU INNOVATE, Aalborg University
📅 Dates: spring and autumn - see the dates for the next workshop below
💰 Fee: DKK 4,500 / approx. €600 (includes materials, lunch, and refreshments)
