AAU Learning Day 2024

On 8 May 2024, all AAU educators are invited to participate in the AAU Learning Day. The theme of AAU Learning Day 2024 is ‘PBL: past, present and future’.

PBL: past, present, and future

The main theme of the AAU Learning Day 2024 is PBL: past, present, and future.

This year's theme is inspired by the fact that Aalborg University will be celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2024.

On AAU Learning Day 2024, on 8 May 2024, we invite you to reflect on the past, present and future of PBL. The AAU Learning Day 2024 provides a setting for AAU staff to share experiences on applying PBL in everyday pedagogical practices and a space for discussing the role of PBL at AAU.  More importantly, it will be a space for all of us to discuss the future of PBL.

You are invited to participate in activities throughout the day, and we strive for these activities to inspire you, offer you the opportunity to reflect on your pedagogical practice, and provide you with hands-on tools for applying PBL in your teaching and pedagogical practice. More importantly, we also invite you to contribute to AAU Learning Day by hosting your own workshops and sharing your practice and ideas with colleagues. Please find more information about the call for workshops below.

This year, we will host a separate AAU Learning Day in Esbjerg on the 17 May 2024, more information will follow.

Programme

AAU Teacher of the Year

Who will become the AAU Teacher of the Year?

Once a year, Aalborg University elects a Teacher of the Year based on nominations received from students. Apart from the great honour, the elected course lecturer, project supervisor or semester coordinator will receive a cash bonus.

The AAU Pedagogy Prize

Each year, the AAU pedagogy prize is awarded to a participant from the University Pedagogy Programme who has strived to develop and experiment with teaching methods and, in this regard, has made great efforts towards developing new perspectives on their teaching practice.

Along with the prize, the winner receives DKK 15,000. Half of the amount must be dedicated to professional development, while the other half is personal remuneration.
